Ali Akbar Khan Shahnazi was born in 1897 in the city of Tehran with a 100 years of musical family Mirza Hossein Goli and Mirza Abdollah. His extraordinary talent reached to the level which allowed him to teach his father's students at the age of twelve. At age fourteen, he recorded two gramaphone disks by playing some of the most famous Persian melodies, such as Avaz-e- Afshari and Avaz-e-Bayate Tork with the great vocalist, Henabe Damavandi. At age fifteen after his father's death, Mirza Hossein Gholi, he became officially responsible for his father's students. Not only he carried the family title of Khandan-e Honar ( The art dynasty), but with the establishment of the Shahnazi Music School, he preserved and elaborated the Radif Of Persian Music, which was later named, Radif- for advanced students. He passed away in 1985 at age 88, May he rest in peace.
